Artificial Insemination
SARHAD DAIRY started the Artificial insemination services for farmers to genetic improvement of their animals. So that farmers get high producing animals and it will helpful in improve their economic condition. Farmer get doorstep AI services by our trained AI technician in just 150 rupees. Doses are procured from the semen station, Ode AMUL and SAG. Doses are prepared from the elite bulls.
Sexed dose insemination
Dairy also started Artificial insemination from sexed semen doses. Through which farmers can have female calf through their animal. Sexed semen doses are procured from Grade “A” semen station. Farmers can get sexed semen AI only in 200 rupees. Within few days all villages will get the sexed semen doses.
Embryo transfer
Dairy started embryo transfer services in field from 18th august, 2023. In this animal breeding technology laboratory prepared embryos are transferred into animal’s uterus. This good quality embryos are prepared into laboratory, Anand. Till now 5 ET calves already born and new calves will born in upcoming days. With the help of this technique farmers can get elite animals which are genetically very sound and high milk yielders.
Fertility improvement programme
In field farmer’s main problems are related to animal’s fertility. Animals are mostly facing issues regarding repeat breeding, anoestrus, underdeveloped genitalia, early embryonic death or abortion which are gynaecological problems. This gynaecological disorders leads to poor milk production. To overcome this issues dairy started fertility improvement programmes. In which doctors arranges camps in which they diagnose the problem and do treatment according to it.
Calf rearing programme
To create awareness among Milk Producer Members to adopt scientific Calf Rearing Practices and also to create good replacement stock and high productivity of animals we have initiated Strategic Calf Rearing Programme.
Main objectives of CRP are as below:
- Reduce the mortality of calf
- Reduce the age of first calving
- Increase the milk production
- To improve the breed
In this Project we are performing such activities to rear the calf scientifically. After calf born it is necessary to feed colostrum because it will build immunity in calf which act as safeguard against diseases. Colostrum should feed up-to 3 days of age twice a daily about 2-3 litres. After 3 days farmer can feed whole milk or milk replacer to calf. Weaning can take place at the age of about 2 months of age, or when the calves are weighing about 75 kg. At the age of 3 days calf starter should be start. Calf starter plays important role in rumen development. Calf should eat 2.2kg/per age of weaning. Up-to age of 2-4 months continues the feeding of calf starter. Along with this calf should get full access of drinking water.
For improvement of breed and milk production for future generation, calf rearing is of most importance. Therefore, through this programme of Calf Rearing, we are performing following activities .Selection of AI born female calf supply of naval Kit.
- Supply of first Deworming dose within 10 days of birth and then after up to 6 months of age at regular interval
- Supply of Aahar Kit containing 10 Kg. of Milk Replacer and 50 Kg. of Calf Starter
- Weight Measurement at 3 Month and regularly as per parameter
- Calf Feeding bottles supply to Milk Producers at 50% subsidised rates
- Supply of Growth Promoter( Calf Live) for Calves under this Programme
PSP- Banni Project
Pedigree selection programme was started in June, 2022 to develop the indigenous Banni buffalo. Main objectives of project was improving the genetic potential of indigenous Banni buffalo breed for milk production in their native tracts. Producing genetically superior quality Banni buffalo bulls for semen production stations of the country. Ensuring active participation of the communities in breed development programmes. In this programme we select the 50,000 breed-able elite female in their native tract. Local person from village got training of artificial insemination. Those AI technician will provide doorstep AI services. AIT/ village level resource person shall be entrusted with monitoring and recording day-to-day activities of the project like identification, registration and tagging of elite cows/ buffaloes (having prescribed level of milk production specific for the breed in a standard 305 days lactation period and conforming to breed characteristics) in multiplier villages, monthly milk recording of identified elite cows/ buffaloes and recording all data through Bharat Pashudhan application. All female animals that are inseminated shall be identified with ear tags; all events of artificial insemination, pregnancy diagnosis and calving of dams shall be recorded through Bharat Pashudhan application. In programme we organize training and education of participating farmers to create awareness regarding improved animal husbandry practices helping them to exploit the milk production potential of the indigenous animals. At present, we establish total 35 AI centre, 27 milk recording centre among which total 1942 AI done. Through this AI 194 calf born. Under this project total 205 village are covered for AI and 112 villages are under milk recording. Total 2509 animals are under milking recoding activity.
